It is that time of the year when we reach out to our friends, relatives, and people who have been close to us to express our appreciation and to wish them…. WHAT?
There are people who can write and express wishes so beautifully that you would like to keep their cards forever. But, if you are like me you probably struggle to find the right words and wishes that will be personal and yet fun.
I am sure the easiest wish to come to our minds is “Happiness”. Be Happy – we all wish it in different ways to our close ones – it is the absolute measure of being, and feeling, mentally, physically and socially excellent.
But wait a minute... what exactly does it mean to be Happy? Is there a measure? Can you buy it? Order online? Pre-order? Subscribe? Find on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook?
There are a number of studies, and tons of definitions, that try to explain Happiness, but for most of us we would know it when we feel it, right?
I deeply believe that every person has his own EASY way to be happy. Yes, EASY… because I also believe that we are born to be happy, and we intentionally and unintentionally seek happiness throughout our lives. Guess what… it should be natural and easy to be happy. Isn’t it simple? The good news is that we all have the tools to get there, to be HAPPY, and to feel GOOD… Controlled breathing, positive thinking, and exercise are among the simplest ways to promote calmness and happiness, we’ve known that for thousands of years.
I’ve seen and personally experienced many times how even simple exercises can bring a wave of happiness – the day will become brighter, problems find their solutions, and often creative ideas occur. I will not go in depth on the science of what hormone causes that and why. It is not that important to know the science or the reasons, if it makes you feel good and happy, find a way to do it! If you are not sure what to do, surround yourself with positive people and the answer will come naturally because we have been born to be happy and we have all the tools.
Today our lives are getting more and more complex and busy with tons of demanding responsibilities. As a Personal Trainer I meet people every day and often I can see how STRESS causes people to feel unhealthy and unhappy. No matter the cause of stress or the problems they have, when I leave my clients’ homes they are more relaxed and… happier (well hello of-course, it’s because the torturer is leaving, right:)) and that is the Miracle of fitness! Most of the time my job is to just find the activity that best suits my clients.
I don’t claim to know every answer, but I enjoy finding meaningful answers that will keep you happy and healthy. Helping people adopt healthier lifestyles is my way of sending Holiday wishes every day of the year, however I have also decided to begin using this space to share some of my ideas and thoughts on fitness. As always, your comments are more than welcome.
Yes, I guess I could written about how different my approach is. I listen to my clients and how my programs include not only cardio and resistance training, but also mind and body activities at our unique Yoga Fit Boutique studio. How I, and my business yoga partner Libby for less than a year, created the most welcome cozy “homelike” studio in Cincinnati. How our passion about health and wellness attracts likeminded professionals and nurture their “crazy” creative ideas… Yes I could and someday I will, but today because it is Christmas I would like just to remind you about this simple Fitness Miracle – “Be active and you WILL feel happier” it works I promise – satisfaction guaranteed or… or your time to read this backJ.
Science can’t tell us why exercising brings our spirits up and it doesn’t matter, it has been working for thousands years and still works. We all keep forgetting it and we often need somebody to remind us about this.
